Who we are

Kids Inc. has been a cornerstone of the Ballard neighborhood for over 20 years, with our current owner Gee proudly leading the center for the past 15 years. Our mission is to create a collaborative environment where staff, children, and families work together to foster the physical, social, and emotional development of each child in a positive way.

At Kids Inc., we believe in learning through play. Our curriculum is designed to honor each child’s unique background and lifestyle, while remaining culturally relevant. We create an engaging and supportive atmosphere where children are seen as individuals, and families are valued as part of our community.

We emphasize the following areas of development:

  • Encouraging empathy, sensitivity, and global thinking.

  • Promoting proactive behavior and positive conflict resolution through effective communication.

  • Offering a rich array of activities in art, music, language, math, and science, tailored to each child’s needs.

  • Helping children express their feelings, foster independence, and build self-esteem.

  • Creating an inclusive environment that reflects the diverse cultures of our community.

Tactile experiences are essential for developing motor skills, and at Kids Inc., children engage in hands-on activities like playing with sand, water, play-doh, finger paint, clay, & gardening. We also encourage outdoor play and offer a variety of sports and games to help build physical development and endurance.

Our non-religious curriculum aligns with Seattle School District Learning Standards and EALRS, ensuring that children’s educational experiences are both meaningful and well-rounded.
